The work boat is consumed in the process. it is defenseless, and will be killed if it comes into contact with an enemy. strategy edit. this unit can only be constructed in coastal cities. use work boats to improve water resources - fish, whales, oil, etc. the work boat is consumed when it constructs the improvement.. For fish research fishing, build work boat, move work boat to fish, and there should be option to use the work boat on the fish. this consumes the work boat and you get the new higher yield from the fish tile. less important but worth mentioning is that you still have to protect the tile as enemies can destroy the work boat with their offensive. Fishing boats allow a civilization to harvest the valuable crab, fish, whale and pearl resources. to construct fishing boats, you must build a work boat in a coastal city (after your civilization has learned the requisite technology). work boats are consumed when they construct fishing boats..
